Guys,

The best solution is hardware, with serial connection.
Can hack any version in 15 sec ;)

Kolofonium is already a old story unpublish! :)

regards,
Flo

Anonymous said...

yo Flo,

like I said, but not everybody is able to do so. I think most of the readers do not really need this hack but it would be interesting to see how they did it again.

Whether it's a fake or not.

Anonymous said...

Can't wait to see is this true story or pure bullshit...

Anonymous said...

could be b.s...

Anonymous said...

if these "few more days" take another 6 weeks, I agree in the theory of a fake but as long as we don't know ... we don't know. :-)

So let's wait some few more days.

fmatic said...

Ok. Let's wait ;) I'm too curious and just want to know is it fake or not and how they fulfil it.

DOESN't WORK NEED FUCKINGZ KOLOZIFIAUCOMZ NOW WHY LNOG WAIT?

Anonymous said...

i think it might be b.s.
there is no point on holding back the hack and still releasing it before rev3.

Anonymous said...

Yea its starting to get ridiculous guys. I for one can't do any hardware modification and r2 shipped with this box, 2 weeks AGO!!!

Anonymous said...

This Thread seems to become as long as the other one with nearly everyone begging and complaining.

ridiculous... somehow, but even though it looks like they COULD be bullshitting us, they might just wait a little longer when everybody's continues begging and complaining

In the end it's up to them when they release it

Anonymous said...

grammtical correction ;-)

when everybody's continuing...

i have discovered a new method for firmware 7.1 r2 . It's simple. Connect 3,3 v from pin of fonera on pin9 of flash eprom from 30 second. Excuse me for my bad english.

Anonymous said...

your english should be OK :-)
But, without exaggerating ;-), what happens if you JUST connect or put 3,3 V on that pin you mentioned?

See, that kind of "hacking" Gzis older than "Jopi Heesters"...

Anonymous said...

To Anonymous above Roland ^^^^

Do you mean connect the pins circled in red on this picture?

Anonymous said...

oh, a pre-flashed rev. 2 :-)

might be, but you need to connect to a TX, RX and Ground Line as well

It will blow your flash so than it wil have version 0.0.0.rev0.... and brick your fonera !

Unknown said...

So where is this release? its been a few days!

Anonymous said...

Their is a complete tutorial on hacking the La Fon here
http://dltv.wordpress.com/off-the-wall/la-fon-hacking/

Anonymous said...

blowing Anonymous, I'm not sure if it would work. I haven't tried and won't dare to do so unless I'm completely sure or know the right people.

Anonymous said...

this is ridiculous hwo long this going to take?

Anonymous said...

Ok dudes. Walk to the spotlights and tell us what is the story of this Kolofonium? If this is a true story I'm quite confused why not share your idea for others? Only drum around: "We did it"! but wont tell us how you did it? Undeniably comes to mind this is like Mozilla Firefox hackers some time ago in Toorcon-conference :)

i'll never come here again

Just grab yourself a S25/C25 data cable (PIN1=GND, PIN5=TX, PIN6=Rx), connect your FON to a terminal software and type: "echo "0.7.0" > /etc/fon_version" at console.

After that you can flash a full R1 Version over it and use the old method to access SSH.

Anonymous said...

S25/C25 data cable?

image? siemes c25?

Anonymous said...

Yes you can use a S25 data cable for the La Fonera. You dont need anything else. Dismount the connector there you will find three cables. Like i said PiN1=GND, PIN5=TX, PIN6=Rx. You can attach these cables directly to the serial interface of your Fonera. Remember to plug RX in TX and TX in RX otherwise Fonera and your Terminal Software can´t communicate. You can also make a full flash to R1 and use the old methods for enabling SSH.

Anonymous said...

i have c45 cable, will work?

Anonymous said...

Will any USB->Serial cable work if I chop the Serial end off to get at the wires?

Or do I still need to get hold of a MAX232?

Anonymous said...

Sehr geil! Kann es kaum erwarten!!!

Anonymous said...

Thanks in advance for your hard work...we're thirst for the hacking instructions from you two...

Dear Michael and Stefan,

Thank you very much, I followed your new hacking method successful in enabling on the SSH.

However, I was unable to connect to the RedBoot prompt using the telnet 192.168.1.254 9000 command...

I now hanged on this step, Please help!

Michael Kebe said...

Steven,

if you wanna get RedBoot access, follow this HOWTO

I really can't figure out how to get ssh connection. I tried with PUTTY, but he asks for a login and a password, and admin - admin isn't working. Help would be appreciated!

Thanks for your work!

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your reply. I already followed the steps. When I gone through step 5:
a) I configured NIC's IP as 192.168.1.166 (netmask 255.255.255.0, no gateway, DNS)

b) crossover ethernet cable used
c) when Fonera power on, the wait for ethernet LED flashing then on. Immediately press [Enter] for command 'telnet 192.168.1.254 9000' under DOS session (I'm using XP SP2). But the prompt wait for a moment, no connection can be established. I also try press [Enter] immediately after I see the ethernet LED start flashing, but still failed.

What wrong with my steps? Please advise!!

Thanks
Steven
